Butter Dip Biscuits

1 stick butter (1/2 cup)

2-1/2 C flour

4 tsp sugar

4 tsp baking powder

2 tsp salt

1-3/4 C Buttermilk


  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

  2. Cut up the butter and microwave to melt. Pour into an 8x8 pan.

  3. In medium bowl mix the dry ingredients.

  4. Add the buttermilk and stir just until moistened.

  5. Add the dough to the melted butter, spread it out to cover evenly.

  6. Score the dough, into 9 pieces so the butter gets in between.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, turning halfway to cook evenly, or until the top is golden and springy.

  8. Serve with sausage gravy.
